The Wycliffe College Alumni/ae Association is growing each year and is a special reminder of the great cloud of witnesses that have passed through the halls of Wycliffe College.
The Association was established to affirm and promote Wycliffe’s Six Principles and to unite alumni/ae in Christian fellowship. Our executive committee works closely with the Development Office to find new and effective ways to support alumni/ae as well as continuing with our Newsletter and in the planning of conferences and events. Each May, our Annual General Meeting provides an opportunity to connect, update and receive both feedback and guidance from our alumni/ae. We also now sponsor The Morning Star Seminar annually in different parts of Canada as an element of continuing education for alumni/ae and others. The Seminar involves the close reading of a classic commentary on a book or portion of scripture facilitated by an expert and has been a source of deepened understanding and encouragement to participants.
The generosity of the members of the Association allows us to support current students through bursaries, an annual BBQ for students to kick off the semester in the fall, support of the Student Council’s Coffee Fellowship, and yearly special projects like the recent restoration of all the class photos that can be seen in the hall leading to the chapel.
In all we do, we are reminded of the love of Christ which sustains us and connects us to each other. We are very grateful for God’s continued provision through alumni/ae like you in financial gifts, new ideas and feedback, and especially prayer. As your new President of the Alumni/ae Association I echo the words of The Rev’d Robert Mitchell, our past president, by saying that in everything we do, our aim is to make the College stronger and to help all graduates maintain a relationship with the College, its traditions, and with one another.
