Wycliffe College announces its third annual Scripture and Theology Essay Competition. The competition invites entries from undergraduate and graduate students in any discipline, from institutions around the globe. This year, competitors will engage the question, "What is the heart of Paul's gospel?"

The Scripture and Theology Essay Competition reflects Wycliffe’s commitment to excellence in the study of both the Bible and theology as mutually informing disciplines in the service of the Church. Wycliffe College plays a leading role in revitalizing the theological interpretation of Scripture. We also host biannual Scripture and Theology colloquia, open to students, academics, pastors, and interested members of the public. Essay competition winners are invited to Wycliffe for our May colloquium, where they will meet world-class scholars who will explore the topic of Paul's gospel from an apocalyptic angle.

Previous competition winners have hailed from a spectrum of academic institutions, including Emory University (Georgia), Princeton Theological Seminary (New Jersey), the University of Waterloo (Ontario), and Dominican Institute Ibadan (Nigeria), among others.

We look forward to receiving this cycle's contingent of essays, and we hope that competitors will be full of joy as they engage with the Gospel, "the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16, ESV).
