Core Courses at 1000 Level (5 credits) 

  • Old Testament
  • New Testament
  • History of Christianity
  • Theology
  • One course in another area of theological studies (e.g., ethics, philosophy, comparative theology, apologetics, pastoral theology, spirituality)

Electives (2 credits)

  • Choose from any TST courses at the 2000 or 3000 level.

Eligibility

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 (or equivalent).

English proficiency

Students who have not completed a previous degree in English must demonstrate proficiency through a recognized language exam. For more information, see our international students page or contact our admissions office.

Application deadlines*

June 30 – for a Fall start (September)
October 31 – for a Winter start (January)

 

*International applicants are encouraged to apply at least eight weeks before the posted deadlines to ensure adequate time for processing study permits. 

Domestic CTS Fees (2024-2025)

  • Tuition per course: $602.00
  • Full-time ancillary fee (4 or more courses): $1216.3 per term
  • Part-time ancillary fee (3 or fewer courses): $276.04 per term

International CTS Fees (2024-2025)

  • Tuition per course: $2,875.00
  • Full-time ancillary fee (4 or more courses): $1216.3 per term
  • Part-time ancillary fee (3 or fewer courses): $276.04 per term
  • University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP): $756.00 per academic year

Flexible learning

  • The CAS can be completed in one year of full-time (4 or more course per term) study, or up to four years of part-time study (1-3 courses per term) with continued registration (at least 1 course) in Fall and Winter. 
  • Students may switch between full-time and part-time formats by term.
  • Online, summer, and intensive courses are regularly offered.

Graduates of the CTS often use their studies to think and act more theologically within their current ministries or other vocational settings. Some of them also continue to pursue further education in a Master's program. 

Students who have partially completed the Certificate in Theological Studies and wish to transfer into a longer program may be able to count their completed certificate credits toward another program. Note that this transfer must be made before completing the certificate.
