Wesley Huff
PhD – Theology, 2023 (expected)
I was born in Pakistan to missionary parents, spent a portion of my childhood in the Middle East, and had a short-lived Bollywood career. Currently, I am completing a Wycliffe PhD while also working as the Central Canadian Director of Apologetics Canada and serving as an elder at West Toronto Baptist Church.
I have a keen interest in biblical studies and early Christianity. The origins, transmission, dissemination, and history of the biblical text are essential to understand and fascinating to explore. My doctoral research investigates characteristics within New Testament manuscripts to see how these ancient copies represent artifacts of historical significance and the social indicators they may divulge about the earliest Christian communities that produced them.
I chose Wycliffe because of its academic pedigree, commitment to scholastic excellence, and its evangelical tradition. Wycliffe provides an opportunity to study in a supportive and nurturing academic environment. Its proximity to and relationship with the University of Toronto provide resources and partnership which allow scholarship to thrive and succeed.
