Will Postma

Adjunct Faculty

Will Postma is the Executive Director at the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), the humanitarian and development arm of the Anglican Church of Canada.

Will has 30 years of development experience, including with World Renew, CARE, World Vision, Save the Children and Pathways to Education. Much of that work has been in support of community development, from Mali to Bangladesh to Tanzania to Canada. Education, health and income generation are sectors where Will has direct experience, in program design, implementation and oversight. For both longer-term development programs and more immediate humanitarian response, Will has developed and implemented protocols of monitoring, evaluation, learning and sharing insights with others of civil society, government and the business community.

His current work with PWRDF is to ensure oversight of operations and programs in maternal and newborn child health, sexual health and reproductive rights and food security. Since joining PWRDF in 2016, an external institutional evaluation was completed and is informing the development of a next five-year organizational strategy and innovative partnerships in support of community development, including in Canada.

Will has published papers and other learning materials on Participatory Development, Capacity Building and Results Based Management. He has carried out primary research on state and civil society dynamics in West Africa in the context of completing a Masters in International Development at Carleton University. He has led and facilitated class work in secondary school, college and university settings, drawing on his experience in community development around the world.
