Dr. Kirstin Jeffrey Johnson, theologian and farmer from the Ottawa Valley in Ontario, will present her academic work on Victorian author George MacDonald, the celebrated, Scottish fable poet and novelist who inspired C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, among many others. Born 200 years ago this year, MacDonald is remembered for his writings on Christian allegories of man's pilgrimage back to God, especially in fairy tales, which continue to delight readers of all ages.

Kirsten has been travelling throughout the world, lecturing on MacDonald's profound contributions in literature, which include what Lewis described as "the baptism of his imagination."

The free lecture requires no registration and is co-sponsored by Timothy Eaton Memorial Church.
