Whether you’re a returning student or arriving for the first time, we’re glad you’re here.

Our first week is designed to help you become accustomed to life at the College and includes a variety of orientation, information, and social events. It’s a good time to get to know other students, staff, and faculty before your classes begin. 

All events are for both Wycliffe students and residents unless otherwise specified. 

  

 

Tuesday, September 7, 2021

 

8:30–9:00 a.m.

Morning Prayer (Live-Streamed)

Services begin today in Founders’ Chapel and will be live-streamed

 

9:15–11:45 a.m.

 

Opening Assembly in The Great Hall   (In-Person and Virtual)

This event is required for all new Wycliffe students. Choose to attend in-person or via Zoom

This is a formal introduction to the College where staff, faculty, and Student Council will be introduced. We will also cover a variety of information about life at Wycliffe and provide an opportunity to ask questions.

Worship Service – Opening Sermon from the Principal (In-Person and Virtual)

The service will be held in Founders’ Chapel following the assembly and will be live-streamed or in-person – no registration needed – we will use the Chapel live-stream link

Followed by collection of bagged lunch and opportunities to eat in the Refectory/tent/picnic tables as public health regulations permit outside/inside gathering. Lunch registration is included in the Opening Ceremony in-person registration form above.

After Lunch 

Informal campus walk if people are interested after lunch.

5:00 p.m.

Night out on the Town (In-Person)

Join Student Council as we grab dinner or snacks on a patio! Bring your spouse and come hang!

 

Wednesday, September 8

Orientation Information for New Wycliffe Basic Degree Students – Required Attendance (Virtual)

All new students are expected to attend. MDIV, MTS, Certificate students and non-conjoint students will meet via Zoom.

Academic Graduate Degree Reception (In-Person or Virtual)

PHD, THM and MA students may join us in-person under the tent in the tennis court, or, you may join us virtually. Registration link will be available here on this page once available.

First-year firsts! (Virtual)

First-year students will be watching Student Council’s virtual “behind the scenes” tour of Wycliffe. Also,you will attend a Zoom session where you will learn all the ins and outs of the Wycliffe Website—your home base for this somewhat virtual semester!

Sexual Misconduct Policy Seminar - Wycliffe Students - Required (Virtual Event)

All new students are required to take this workshop on sexual harassment. Attendance will be taken.

How to Survive (and thrive) in Seminary (Virtual Event)

Join Student Council and on Zoom as they answer your questions about academics, student and community life, and virtual learning! Make note of the questions you have throughout the week and come prepared to ask them, if you don’t have any questions come anyway and learn all about surviving and thriving at Wycliffe.

Join Student Council as they host a movie night in the tent! It’s BYOS (Bring Your Own Snacks!) Weather Pending: under the Tent will be available.  No registration is required.

TST Orientation for New Academic Graduate Degree Students (Virtual Event)

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Graduate Centre for Theological Studies (GCTS) orientation on September 10, from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. EST. It will be held by Zoom and you will receive the Zoom link and the schedule the day before. We will open the Zoom room at 8:45 a.m. for sign on and close it around 12:20 p.m. so you have a social time or time for questions we end the formal meeting.

A reception specifically for Spouses of Wycliffe students (In-Person Event)

 

All new and returning spouses of students are invited and encouraged to take this opportunity to leave their children with their partners and meet new friends and reconnect with old friends at this gathering with Fawna and +Stephen in the Principal’s Lodge (located next door to the College).

Please note: all who attend will need to show proof of COVID vaccination in accordance with College policy. 

No registration is necessary.
