The term "global Christianity" is often celebrated in Western contexts, but what if this framing itself is part of the problem?

Join us for a provocative evening of theological reflection and lively conversation.

We will explore how Christianity has always been a global faith—rooted in diverse cultures and communities far beyond the West. We'll unpack how the term "global Christianity" reflects a Eurocentric narrative and examine its implications for theology, mission, and identity in the 21st century.

Our guest is Dr. Victor Ezigbo, Wycliffe’s new professor of Global Christianity and Intercultural Ministry.

He is the author of Re-imagining African Christologies: Conversing with the Interpretations and Appropriations of Jesus Christ in Contemporary African Christianity (2010); Introducing Christian Theologies: Voices from Global Christian Communities (two volumes, 2013 and 2015); and The Art of Contextual Theology: Doing Theology in the Era of World Christianity (2021). His book, Christology and the Enactment of Jesus Christ’s Presence, is expected to be published in 2025 by Cambridge University Press
