Wycliffe College is mourning the loss of Dr. James F. Kennedy. Jim died on February 23rd, 2016 after a long courageous struggle with cancer. A prominent Toronto lawyer, James came to Wycliffe in 1984 as a new trustee. He brought his professional expertise, his deep Christian faith, and an unfailing spirit of optimism to the college, eventually succeeding Dr. Robert Salter as Chairman of the Board. He was awarded Wycliffe’s honourary Doctor of Sacred Letters in 1998. Jim did not think of his contribution to Wycliffe as mere volunteerism; it was instead part and parcel of his ministry, a ministry that also found expression in his parish of Little Trinity and as Chancellor of the Diocese of Moosonee.
We give thanks for the life and witness of James Kennedy, and we assure Judith and their family of our love and prayers. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
The funeral will be held on March 19th at 2:00 PM at Little Trinity Anglican Church.
