Ruthia Pak Regis
MTS, 2009

In hindsight, I see that for most of my life I have been trying to figure out how faith and art inform each other. So, it's no big surprise that after a Bachelor of Fine Arts (specialization in painting and drawing) I would end up pursuing theological education.

My Wycliffe courses helped build a good foundation from which to engage the Bible, and what that meant for my everyday faith. For my summative exercise, I created a calligraphic manuscript of the Song of Songs, along with a short paper. I continue to paint and am currently represented by Roberts Gallery.

Spreading my MTS over six years meant Wycliffe was a part of my life during many changes. I started my studies contemplating a celibate life, graduated with a husband (also a Wycliffe graduate), a child, and another on the way. They are now both junior high students, whom we'll be homeschooling.

My favourite thing about Wycliffe is the community of interesting, kind, and faithful people I've had the pleasure of meeting, and continue to meet!
