TORONTO - Wycliffe College, at the University of Toronto, is proud to announce its honourary degree recipients for 2014.
His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, has always believed that by learning and sharing knowledge, we collectively strengthen our communities, our societies and the world. Mr. V. Prem Watsa, CEO and Chairman of Fairfax Financial and Chancellor of the University of Waterloo, has been a strong example of a person of Christian faith in the business world. Each will receive the Doctor of Sacred Letters. The degree Doctor of Divinity will be conferred on the Reverend Doctor Gordon Smith, President, Ambrose University College and Seminary. Earlier in his career he helped to build up theological schools in the majority world. His Excellency will deliver the address to the graduating class.
At the Monday May 12, 2014, Convocation, the following academic degrees will also be conferred: Doctor of Ministry (DMin), Doctor of Theology (ThD), Masters of Theology (ThM), Masters of Divinity (MDiv), Masters of Theological Studies (MTS), MTS in Urban and International Development (MTSD) and Masters of Religion (MRel). Wycliffe College is an evangelical Anglican theological college and seminary, and a member of the Toronto School of Theology at the University of Toronto.
Convocation ceremony begins at 4:00 p.m. in Convocation Hall at University of Toronto.
