Jonathan Slater

A native of Toronto and graduate of Wycliffe College, Jonathan has a background in science, mathematics, and education, as well as seven years of experience in pastoral ministry with youth. He has a wide range of interests in systematic and historical theology, including theological anthropology and eschatology, the engagement between Christian faith and contemporary science, the intersection of pneumatology, ecclesiology, and the shape of the Christian life, the early development of Christian theology, and the ways in which Scripture and voices from the tradition are brought to bear in contemporary theological discussion. He has published a paper on the question of deification in the theology of John Calvin, and continues to work on Karl Barth’s doctrine of baptism. In addition to teaching theology at Wycliffe, he teaches in the English and Liberal Studies department at Seneca College. He is currently Theologian-in-Residence at St. John the Baptist Norway Anglican Church.
