During a meeting of Wycliffe College's COVID Response Team this morning, members affirmed the decision (previously announced) to continue with all current COVID policies and protocols until the end of term (up to and including Spring Convocation on May 9, 2022). In keeping with University of Toronto guidelines, this means that masking and physical distancing measures will remain in place. Wycliffe College is giving thanks for the life of the Rev. Dr. Marwood (Marney) Francis Patterson. Born in 1927, he died on February 24, 2022. Marney was a three-time graduate of Wycliffe College (Bachelor of Divinity, 1956; Licentiate of Theology, 1965, and an honorary Doctor of Divinity, 1988). He was ordained in the Anglican Church of Canada (Diocese of Toronto) in 1955 where he served as a parish priest for 12 years. In 1966 he established "Invitation to Live Ministries" a worldwide, itinerant, inter-denominational Evangelistic Ministry. As Founder and Director for 44 years, he ministered
Late last week, Wyc liffe College received with joy and gratitude   notice   from The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) Commission on Accrediting that Wycliffe has been reaccredited for another 10 years,  until 2032. The notice follows the recommendations of the ATS accreditation team that met virtually with our community last October.   The ATS letter comes on the heels of a positive University of Toronto review of the Toronto School of Theology consortium in June 2021 .   The ATS letter praised Wycliffe on many points, as well as indicated some areas for continued attention over the
Warmest congratulations to Wycliffe Professor of Systematic Theology, Joseph Mangina, on the occasion of a symposium in his honour—available now and next month in Pro Ecclesia Journal. From March 2 — April 14, 2022, Wycliffe College will be a site host for Crossings: A Journey to Easter Art Exhibition. This all-outdoor contemplative public art exhibit will be set in 16 central Toronto locations , including on the grounds of Wycliffe College. Each of the 16 sites will feature distinctive artworks created by Canadian artists specifically to capture the meaning of the iconic biblical story expressed in the Scriptural Stations of the Cross. Wycliffe College has updated its Covid-19 Vaccination Policy. The February 2, 2022 version of the policy explains the requirement that all students, employees, and volunteers who need to access Wycliffe facilities and who are eligible for boosters, receive a booster dose no later than February 25, 2022. Yesterday, the University of Toronto announced the intention to resume in-person teaching and activities effective Monday, February 7. In keeping with the University’s plans, at Wycliffe College we expect all in-person classes to begin to return Monday, February 7 with the goal of students being situated in their chosen sections by February 28. Recognizing that there exists ongoing uncertainty and concern within the community regarding the possibility of infection, we understand that some students may feel hesitant to return to in-person study.
